hey guys, semi-newcomer here :) Recently, I've learned how to use IK Multimedia Philharnomik as a multichannel MIDI instead of 1 Phil for one track. However, I cannot find out how to apply fx such as EQ, compressor,.... for individual channel of the Phil Basically i have track 1 loads with the Phil, and other tracks (harpsichord, brass,..) send their midi data to track 1. It works perfectly. I just dont know how to use the fx. If i click on fx button of harpsichord or brass track to use EQ, nothing happen to the sound. I dont want to use the fx on track 1 but individual track because of different EQs and applications. Someone please show me the way? I did some research but havent found out anything yet :( BTW, anyone knows how to use combine combis? Whenever i load a new combi, the old one got replaced :(

Try this:(a) right-click in the TCP area below any existing tracks, (b) select "Insert virtual instrument on new track", (c) select Miroslav Philharmonik (MP), (d) click [Yes] on the "Build Routing confirmation" window; that will create tracks for all of the audio outputs from MP, (e) open the FX window for the VSTi track (click the [fx] button), (f) select [Options] >> "Build 16 channel of MIDI routing to this track", (g) disable RecArm on the MP track. Now you will have 16 tracks sending MIDI (on channels 01 ... 16 respectively) to MP and several tracks for the audio outputs from MP. Within MP, load your instruments and set the routing for each one - receiving MIDI on a particular MIDI channel AND sending its audio to a particular audio output pair; make sure you have set the number of outputs to 31+32 in MP's Preferences first. Back in Reaper, name your MIDI tracks for their destination instruments and add the MIDI. Name the audio tracks too. Colour the tracks as you wish. Then add whatever FX you wish to the "audio" tracks. ------------------ NB: MP automatically has a Send (to a Reverb) on every instrument; that Send always outputs to channels 1+2. So, in MP, route all your instruments to 3+4 upwards to separate them from the Reverbed output (or turn down the Send output and add your own Reverb). Also, Combis cannot be combined!

hey DarkStar, thanks for replying! You've been really helpful since the 1st day I joined the forum! I'm now able to do whatever i want now :) I have one more thing to ask: I cannot change the Pannings and Volumes of the instrument in MP. Whenever i change, it will automatically return to default setting. I've read somewhere that you cannot change panning of MP. Is it true?

No, it is not true (at least, it is fine here). ... Big pic: Exactly when do the controls change back? I'll guess that there are some MIDI CC#7 and #10 messages somewhere in the MIDI clips. Look for them in the MIDI Editor / View Mode:Event List. And check if you have got Reset CC# messages on Play/Stop in the Preferences / MIDI Devices
